On behalf of everyone who has been a part of the Jet’s Family over the years, I want to thank Todd Hill for his diligent work and passion in advancing the mission and vision of the Jet’s Basketball Club.

Over 20 years ago, we embarked on a mission to make a positive impact on our youth in SW Illinois through basketball.  It continues to be our belief that through teaching our young athletes the fundamentals of sports as well as the concepts of teamwork, commitment and accountability, we will instill in them strong character, values, and life skills that will assist them in becoming future leaders and productive citizens in our communities.  To that end, Todd has been instrumental in fulfilling this mission and we thank him!

As Todd retires from his role as director, Andre McMurray will step in to lead the program.  Andre has assisted Todd the past 5 years and we believe this will provide for a smooth transition. Andre will continue to lead the Boys Program and assume the same duties for the Girls Program.

As always, we remain committed to the continued growth and success of our program for years to come.

 Steve

Over the past 17 years, it’s been my privilege and honor to serve as the Director for the Southwest Illinois Jets Basketball Club. I would like to thank the founder of this great organization, Mr. Steve Lanter, for entrusting me in this role.  Because of his belief in me, I’ve established an abundance of relationships with players, coaches, parents, officials, educators, etc.

Upon accepting the Director role, I didn’t put a time limit on how long I would occupy the role, but I knew exactly how I wanted my exit from the club to be. The plan was to leave the club better than I found it. To do this, my goal was to work hard, be the best leader that I could be and impact the club, the players and the community in a positive way.  I take great pride in the levels of growth and excellence that the club has ascended to.  It continues to evolve; all while maintaining superior excellence.  The quality of the Jets brand is stronger than it has ever been.  It’s unprecedented! I’m pleased to say that I’ve achieved the goal.

One of the most gratifying feelings of this journey was being able to touch the lives of hundreds of youth in the Metro East area and help them achieve their dreams and aspirations of playing college basketball, receiving a full ride scholarship, building character to become productive citizens and learning to be leaders.

The Jets Basketball Club is more than just basketball, it’s a family.  The term JETLIFE, means something to those who are a part of the family.

As I transition from the Director role to a continued friend and supporter of the club, I want to thank everyone who’s been a part of this journey with me, especially those who’ve helped me make this goal a reality.

Now it’s time to pass the torch of continued growth and excellence.  And as I do so, I’m excited about what the future holds because the foundation is in place and we are prepared to soar to even greater heights.

GO JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
